The Gallery of Art in Anadarko




The Gallery of Art in Anadarko has orginal works of art by American Indians, mainly representing tribal members in this southwestern area of Oklahoma. There is a large selection of both paintings and alabaster sculptures in many different price ranges.

The Gallery also has beadwork, jewelry, candle holders, vases, pottery, baby mocassins, medicine bags, shawls, decorated cow skulls, rugs, decorated ostrich eggs, story tellers, decorated feathers, animal sculptures and gift items.

On the north side of the 120-foot-long building is a mural by Huzo Paddlety. It is called Transcending the Plains, and shows the history of the Kiowa Tribe. The 10 faces representing the Ko'ett Senko of Ten Bravest Warriors Society of the Kiowas. Featured at the end of the mural is a large fancy war dancer by Robert Redbird Sr., Kiowa. Redbird also painted the mural on the front of the building.

We welcome visitors to our gallery. We are open in the summer, Monday-Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday 1 PM to 5 PM. We are closed on Sunday during the winter. We will open especially for tour groups with prior notice by calling (405) 247-2787, 247-3331, or 247-3872.
